Description
You are considering a vintage Italian Vetterli M1870/87/15 Bolt-Action Rifle. These were originally Swiss Vetterli rifles that Italy converted into single-shot rifles in 1887 and then followed that up by converting them into Carcano-style bolt-action rifles in 1915 at the Terni arsenal. This particular example is about as perfect as you can get and has no damage to note. The metalwork is superb with no imperfections, the same goes for the wood stock. The barrel bands, forend tip, trigger guard, and buttplate are in fantastic shape. The barrel measures 33-inches in length and includes its original front and rear sights. The bore is bright and shiny with some minor pitting and strong rifling — it is chambered for the 6.5x52mm Carcano cartridge. The rear swivel has been cut and would need replacing should you choose to use it.
